5 year old boy wears princess dres
Connecting back to what Hector had said today during class about little kids seeing same gender couples.A five year old boy named Romeo Clarke likes to dress up in princess dresses, have his nails painted, have his hair straightened and prefers to play with Barbies. The after school program had banned Romeo because his way of dressing confused children. The mother named Georgina was told he can rejoin the group if he went back wearing gender appropriate clothing. They had also told the Georgina it was in Romeo's best interest to avoid kids teasing. He wears his dress to the supermarket and sings down the aisles, he isn't bothered what people think. I don't think he should be, I'm proud he is so free and comfortable with himself, the Georgina said. "He won't be going back there,"Georgina said. "He will just have to go somewhere else." Most of the comments on the website focus on Romeo's collection of an estimated 100 dresses he owns and talk much about the issue. Why do people seem to care more about him being "spoiled" then the major issue of a boy being able to wear what he wants? http://jezebel.com/5-year-old-boy-banned-from-playgroup-for-wearing-prince-1573447523

I think that the reason people are so picky about what the boy owns rather than what he wears in order to distract people from the real issue, which seems to be how the boy doesn't fit in the image of the average child. When one is angry at times they can look at the person and find anything that they see wrong and i feel that's whats happening here, they also seem to do this because a young child expressing himself when others see it as wrong, it can completely turn to a large and public controversy, a controversy i'm sure people want to avoid.
