Climate Change
As we know, the United Nations recently released a report saying that if we do not curb our carbon emissions by 2050, we will have irreparably damaged our planet by raising the average temperature by 2 degrees Celsius. This may not sound like a lot to but it would cause ocean levels to rise as much as 20 feet around the globe, heat waves to become more common and persistent as well as extreme weather to be common place. Now I dont know about you but This is quite alarming to me, BUT we as American seem to still think that this is a topic up for debate. The reality is, as John Oliver put it, you can debate facts all you want, but that does not change the fact that it is indeed a fact, and your opinion on it does not matter. While scientists try fruitlessly to make us understand the dire consequence we are in, the conservatives and global warming deniers try just as furiously to bring doubt to the facts we have been presented. The reality is, unless we all stop listening to the 3 out of 100 scientists who dont believe in climate change, we are essentially writing our own death note. What are your thoughts on the overwhelming evidence?

I agree with John Oliver like he said our opinion doesn't matter because in order for us to keep on living on this planet we need to stop destroying it. However that may cost us precious resource that greedy business people may not want to give up so my question is how much are we welling to let go of in order to help the overall environment of our planet?
ReplyDeleteNumbers never lie and all of the evidence like you said is pointing towards the fact that we all need to be more environmentally friendly. So that we stop the negative affects of climate change. But it will definitely take a while to change our ways to be more environmentally friendly on a daily basis.
