These facts I know that we have already encountered but just seeing the numbers once really impacts me.
I kept pasting the article but it keeps telling me page not found. But with the idea of Teen girls being more afraid of their weight then serious issues shocks me too. This just show's us how big of a role body image is in teenage girls. Many teens want to look like something they are not and in reality their body is perfectly fine. Teen girls now a days need more positive role models who would inspire them to feel good in their skin and to feel comfortable with themselves. Role models in not only the entertainment business but also at home and school. That way, teen girls are surrounded with positive people that would help them build their self esteem.
I would have to agree, its really scary to think the the media had influenced young girls into thinking that looks are more important to lead a better and happier life that rather than being worried about being healthy enough to live a long life. What kind of world are we going to life are young [people gonna live in when the way you look may ultimately alter the extent of one's life? i honestly feel this is ridiculous but we cant solely blame the media because i'm sure there are other sources which stick this idea as well into peoples mindsets.
