Body image

This is an article I found about this young man who lost 125 pounds and still struggled with the way he thought he looked.  He took it so far that he actually collapsed once due to lack of food and over-exercising.  This just shows that women aren't the only ones who suffer from body issues either.  People go to the extreme to be accepted by society.

I cannot personally relate to this, but my older brother struggled with his weight his entire life.  He was always made fun of, very insecure about how he looked in his clothes, and had a hard time playing sports because he was so out of shape.  By senior year he finally got motivated enough to change his diet and workout everyday.  Within a year he lost 75 pounds.  He kept wanting to lose more weight, but my parents forced him to stop and actually gain back 10 pounds because he lost so much weight in a short period of time, which isn't very healthy.  I got a front row view to the daily issues of a person struggling with their weight and body image.

  1. My oldest brother played football for UW in college. He was a center so he was always a big guy. But after college he realized that he needed to lose weight. This article and the story of your brother reminded me of his struggle to achieve a healthy weight.
