Here's an interesting article on China and their involvement in Yao Ming's basketball career. Do you think this is real or no?
I do believe that this is possible but i don't believe its real. I have heard stories and read articles about china putting their athletes in camps from the age of 5 so they can achieve excellence. However in the case of Yao both his parents where tall and he obviously received that dominant gene from both so to say china engineered Yao would be a little far fetched. Now think of this, What if Yao was born short? Would China still be questioned when it came to its athletic talent or would it not?
ReplyDeleteI think that even if the Chinese government did make Yao Ming taller and helped train him, he wouldn't automatically become a good basketball player. There are plenty of people who train as hard as they can or have an advantage at an activity and don't become the best or very successful at that activity. Plus I think that height is only one of multiple factors that lead to Yao Ming becoming a very good basketball player.
