Schindler's list in black and white
Hey guys so I was reading a bit about why the Schindlers list was shot in black and white instead of in color and why the beginning of the movie showed the candle in color but nothing else. I found that Speilburg wanted to do this to create more authenticity for the film. To add to the authenticity he even filmed the movie with mostly hand held cameras, and no crane cameras were used in this film either. Spielburg did all this to show what it truly would have looked like to be in these places at that time. I think i would have liked the movie to be filmed in color but i do agree that the movie looks a bit more authentic than how it probably would have in color.

I noticed that during the film the girls dress was in red, was there any reason for this? My personal belief was that when Schindler saw this he realized what exactly was going on, and that the illusion that the Jews were simply being moved faded.
