Omitting the Final
I'm not sure about second period but during our 4th period group today we discussed how many people have did not complete the final challenge. I am one of the 3 kids who did manage to complete this. To me it seemed pretty easy just come to class everyday which really isn't asking for too much. And then you don't have to take a final. And I understand people get sick and that proves to be quite unfortunate. But from what I've heard no one wants to take the final and so logically I think people would then spend the little extra time to make sure they don't miss class. So out of curiosity I'm just wondering why most people could not complete this challenge.

I dropped out the third week because I have a free first and overslept on an odd block day so I was late to third. It would be nice if I didn't have to take the final but honestly i'm not worried at all and I don't think anyone should be, it's open notes.
ReplyDeleteI was planning on completing the challenge but I was having a hard time with personal issues. I felt like the best thing for me was to attend Camp Everytown to express some of my problems. I had to miss 2 days so thats why I wasn't able to complete the challenge but I plan to do it next semester.
ReplyDeleteI tried my best to complete the challenge but to my misfortune i had my DMV driver's test on a friday at 9am which ended my attempt at completing the challenge. The good thing is that i have a second chance at it since its both semesters.
ReplyDeleteI worked my hardest to try top complete this challenge, but I was knocked out on the first Wednesday of the school year. This was because I had to pick up my girlfriend from her house and come to school. Late starts make it difficult to budget time in the mornings, making it easier to be knocked out of the challenge.
ReplyDeleteHonestly i really thought i would be able to complete this challenge because I am usually on time to class but this year my parents got me a car and with this car came more responsibility. Every day i had to drive my three younger brothers to school, both schools being in portola valley and this always seemed to make me come pretty late to class. And honestly once i knew i was out of the challenge i just didn't care if i was late anymore.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Kelly. I found the challenge to be pretty easy as well but I guess for some people things come up and global is not the priority, which makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI thought the challenge was really easy, except I didn't complete the challenge by like half a second. I have a free first period, but I usually am in the library studying before second period. The one time I was barely late was the one day I didn't go to the library early because I had family over and I was saying bye to them. Oh well..
ReplyDeleteThe reason I was unable to complete the challenge was due to being sick, a doctors appointment, and a college visit. I probably would have been able to complete this challenge if it weren't for those three things, but I had no control over any of them.
ReplyDeleteI think the reason a lot of people didn't complete the challenge is that they decided from day one that they weren't going to stress about it. It's likely that many people decided it wasn't worth it, considering the chance that they wouldn't complete it even if they tried.
