Serge Vorobyov threw $1,000 in one dollar bills into a crowd of shoppers at the Mall of America on Black Friday while the song "Let it Snow" played. Vorobyov had decided to try and make other people's holidays better since he had a bad year from loosing his business to getting a divorce. He hoped that with this act of kindness he would get some good karma back.Vorobyov got a disorderly conduct citation from Bloomington police. He has a court date and face of fine.He says that he didnt want to hurt anyone, but when throwing free money people can react in a violent way.Votobyov admitted he had hopes of seeing his xwife and impressing her but says he mainly wanted to give back and hoped for good karma. Do you think Vorobyov's actions were morolly good?
Here is the video of Vorobyov telling his side of the story

I saw this story on the news and honestly I wish I was there catching the money haha jk but on a serious note I think that be should have known that his actions could potentially endangering someone else life. I think he could have been doing it for the right reasons but I think he was doing it to benefit himself and making himself look good in front of his ex-wife
ReplyDeleteI think this was really moronic behavior. He had some really great intentions but he should've known better than to do it on Black Friday seeing as though things get ridiculously violent. If he really wanted to give back and impress his ex-wife he should've donated the money to a charity. What confuses me the most is why he's trying to impress her if they're divorced.
ReplyDeleteI agree with both Nathalie and Ina, this guy was not thinking straight. There is no saying how much he could have hurt someone by being so reckless with the money. Black Friday brings out the inner linebacker in everyone, and adding free cash into the equation raises the craze to a whole other level. Also, I don't know what happened between him and his ex-wife, but if he was trying to impress her, I would think he'd be saving his money (especially because he lost his business) to buy her flowers or a nice present when he is ready to seriously try to make amends.
ReplyDeleteHis actions were not morally good. I agree with Ina in that he could have donated the money to a charity if he wanted to have good intentions instead of throwing money into the public. He also isn't throwing the money only to be good but he is doing it so that he can get good karma back. So selfish. If he did this, he at least should have done it for good intentions and not for him to expect something back. And this is his way of impressing his ex-wife? If i were his ex-wife, i wouldn't think this was cute or anything because he is just being reckless and not thinking what he is doing thoroughly.
