Photos v. Memories
I was watching the Today show yesterday, and I found one segment in particular to be interesting and oh-so relevant. They were talking about Instagram and how it is ruining our memories. We go to amazing places, take a picture and then leave. Rarely, now a days, do we take the time to really absorb everything that is around us. I found this intriguing, because I realized that I am one of those people. I take so many pictures that I sometimes forget to take in the scenery that surrounds me. I can't help but connect this to the Holocaust and the victims who had to live it everyday. I bet that they would have loved to simply take a picture and go home, but that was obviously not an option. We live in such a beautiful place now, and we have so many amazing opportunities to experience new and exciting things. Therefore I agree with what they were saying in this segment, that all of us should really try to live in the moment, and make memories by experiencing new things with friends and family, rather than taking a bunch of pictures that only resemble a faint memory of something we should have payed more attention to. Thoughts?
