I did some more research into other genocides throughout history, and found that Stalin lead a genocide in Ukraine. This popped out at me because just today we learned that Stalin suggested that the leaders of the Holocaust be found guilty then shot. It goes without saying, he was a hypocrite. The death total is estimated to be over 10 million which is similar to the Holocaust.

I remember learning about this in world studies/ CWI but it's true that Stalin was as bad as Hitler if not worse. He himself also commited human atrocities, and there was never responsibility placed on him for the mass killings if his own people
ReplyDeleteYou are right. Stalin is a hypocrite, as many world leaders are. They hold everyone to a certain standard, and then allow themselves to stoop below and do whatever they darn-well feel like doing. Unfortunately, we can look to American officials as great examples of lesser "crimes." Presidents cheating on their wives and Congressmen using cocaine to name two.
