We always expect that when people do good deeds, they will be rewarded for it. But sometimes they are also punished. Recently, three California High School seniors in San Ramon skipped class to go get food. While doing so, they came across a house fire. They stopped and helped, and even ran inside to rescue a 94 year old woman. Everyone is praising them as heroes, and rightly so. However, the school inevitably found out. And what did they do? They gave them detention for cutting class. They are still being regarded as heroes, but they still did break the rules. But doing so allowed them to save someone's life. Does that make it moral? Was the schools response moral? I'll leave that for you to decide.

Well morally for the school it's right because they must uphold there rules but as students who saved a 94 year old lady i think they should have cut them some slack
ReplyDeleteThey did not skip class with the intent to go save an old woman. The school did find out because of it though. Had they not saved the old woman they would have got off without detention. For this reason I don't think they should be punished.
