Speaking of Fascism....Lego Movie!

  1. It seems that the Lego Movie's criticism is more directed towards totalitarianism than just fascism. The author does acknowledge this towards the end of the article, in bringing up how North Korea utilized these 'fascist' principles that we normally associate with the far-right. But such promotion of societal fatalism isn't just the doing of fascism. Either political extreme can tumble into oppressive autocracy, making the spectrum as a whole more of a circle than a straight line. For example, the Soviet Union, at least under Stalin, heavily promoted conformity (a fundamental part of communism) as well being a team player. It's just the team in this sense isn't a state defined by man-made borders, but rather the ideology itself.
